Education FIRST!

I'm very stubborn to ask for help in anything.

All of my hard work of maintaining a good GPA,  studying, working to provide for my family and now incur a bill from attending Summer I session is endangering the continuation for Fall 2014.
Thursday morning my job calls me to let me know that I was not NEEDED for today because of  recent cutback's.

WOW, talk about a 180!
But gang I'm staying very positive through this: applying for jobs, crocheting, listening to vibrant dance music and DIY crafts.

And I have until August 15th (Friday) before my pre-registered classes are dropped on the 17th!!
I have faith in myself and good friends and family do to for me to continue my education.

DAYYYUUMMMM August already here!

LOL like the title?

Went hiking again, had some video but somehow just couldn't upload for nothing...bahhhh!!!

Hit the LaNana Hiking trails, not bad for this ol college town, plenty of exercise, getting spooked by a guy jogging who looked like a Hispanic version of Freddie Mercury. But we caught some friends  in the natural setting of the WOODS!

The Great Owl from Secret of N.I.M.H. came busting on through going back to the car. This sucka was HUGE!! I mean he just would..not...move..for..shit! 






Suddenly I turned into Mrs.Brisby:

I became a mouse in seconds.

Secret of N.I.M.H is one of my favorite top 10 movies of my childhood. I can relate to Mrs. Brisby in many ways being an adult but this scene was the scariest and last Sunday is what I've felt.  Soooo I talked to the owl, seeing those glowy eyes, turning 180 at me and my daughter we was terrified for our lives.  Years ago when I was 9 years old, an owl swooped and tried to grab my hair. Gladly my lil puffy afro was unhurt by the talons but feeling the wind, the weight and the sheer determination to pick my behind off the ground and carry me did not abode well. Owls are wonderful and bright creatures and can be deadly if you're not careful. 

Someone spooked him and flew off. Thank goodness! Because we was not going to pass by him in any chance. I didn't ask him any questions about N.I.M.H, Nicodemus and how to move my house out of the farmer's field just relieved that I can finally get to my car and this child complaining about the hike is soooooo long.

August really? School shopping? School supplies? Forms to fill out for school? Me going back to school?
Can the Universe set the time back? I mean, not ready for none of this junk..You would think I'll be use to it for the past 12 years of doing this? Still on cruise control for summer dude.
Despite the children going back to school, 12 more days for NIN!!!! Yeah!!!!

Take that back to school shopping being an adult stuff!!! HAHHAHHAA 

My color in my hair is washing out, thinking about either lavender or mauve this time dyeing my whole hair.

 Touching up the roots can be a pain, seen this in Sally's finding some hair color to be on the safe side with my fro especially with bleaching to achieve the desired look.

GoT is gone for the season and being a skeptic for a long time about OITNB:

Not bad at all. I really do not like prison show because my father worked as a CO for 25 years and hearing the stories floored me..literally he came out with more intense stories after he retired. Even down to a transgender inmate he knew of.  Yeah the nudity, sex scenes can scare some folks but this is tv. I like how the back stories flow from the inmates' lives before prison life or the "free world." Yep I know some lingo due to my father talking to me.  Truly its a great show but one thing when I watch a show or a movie is the bad representation of black women. Just saying, I would love to see a show where a black woman lives a kick ass carefree life!! I know many black women who do have carefree lives, great careers, awesome dating life/married life to other cultures of men and so on. 

IMO, despite it being a prison show, black women characters are shown as beautiful human women who made bad choices just like everyone else in the show. I give it mad kudos on it.
ALL of them are mad gorgeous!!!  Poussey played by Samira Wiley is drop dead gorg!! She's my other girl crush just like Lupita!!

Hiking and Homemade Ice Cream!

Had the most wonderful time on a hiking date/meet up with a very nice and very funny gentleman.  The beautiful, green leaves and tall pine trees and rather hilly hiking trail with a perfect overcast East Texas weather in JULY!!
Hiking is one of my favorite outdoor activities in the world, next to DIY arts and craft projects. Being a country girl; I love the woods, seeing various wildlife (except for wild hogs or feral hog as ya'll call'em) good exercise, tripping over large tree roots, bugs flying in my face more like ears, climbing the trees...when I feel like it.

It's a klutz's wonderland getting lost for hours.

I thought it was September, told ya East Texas have bi-polar weather...(giggles)

So nice to enjoy nature on a Saturday afternoon, so perfect that homemade ice-cream hit the spot after a 3 mile hike!! Rocky Road my favorite and homemade??
And seen the cutest, smallest frog and on the trail...awwwww

Couldn't do nothing but pet him with my index finger with a gentle touch.

Totally admire this over 60 year old woman who sped past us on a bike TWICE going up these raggedy, dusty, gnarled gigantic roots, rocks like the size of my head weaving in and out on the trails.

Seriously she blew me away with her endurance and the husband bikes too. LOL she was waiting on him to finish his course.

She flew over our heads when we didn't hear the warning but did apologize.

Now that's how the Golden Years are done proper!
My Golden Years are going to be sooooo badazzzz in the next 30 years and beyond........

Dude, I cannot wait to get old!! LOL

From the crazy late Thursday and Friday night with having "guests" which will not be welcomed back to my home ever, tight up in my house rules Kountry Soul Girl will not tolerate anything! I do not understand when someone opens their home ( have such a big heart) but "somehow" feels entitled to not give a damn and respect for your home. Hmmmmm and wonder why people turns their backs????

Called respect and manners. But obviously some people do not receive home training from their parents. anymore.
But one person did and appreciated me and I thank you!
Another thing, if you own pets, please for the sake of the home owner, TRAIN THEM to poop and pee OUTSIDE. My house may not be a chateau` but finding not once but three times where the pooch pooped.
My house is pet friendly and love pets geez respect people's properties.

The Saturday hike and meeting a new person is all good!

Staying cool in this July heat, picked fresh peas from my father's garden and getting around to watering my own garden. I'm growing cucumbers and yellow watermelons with my basic gardening skills. My strawberries didn't pan out and the cilantro too.  I love fresh veggies grew up on them for years and its a good time to learn how to start a garden for yourself. Takes love, patience and tending (being so busy lack on my part) to have a plentiful harvest!

I love Sam Smith not only this song but other songs as well. Something about British singers who have the right amount of talent and SOUL.  Yes, I said SOUL.. Being fed lovingly with soulful British singers at an early age from my mother, I know what is real singing and talent than what's being hashed out cookie cutter grossly so called music of today.
Introducing Annie Lennox to my daughter now she can't go without listening to her voice.

I still tear up listening to "Why"  Reminds me of my late mother and her love for British artists.

Since she love listening to R&B and Soul and introducing soul from someone that isn't American born blew her mind.
My son dance his ass off to Crystal Castles and electronica music.

I suggest opening up the global musical tribe to your children instead of what's popular.



Congratulation to Germany winning the 2014 FIFA World Cup!!!

About time X-Men gets a better treatment and a date at the wine bar.

X-Men got the best treatment in 2014 starting off with the summer blockbuster movies. I totally approve!!

Plenty of Eye Candy ladies.

Wouldn't spoil it for the world but do stay after the credits end. Brian Singer got it right this time and didn't pull any mess.

Don't remind me of X3 and that hash of crap Brett Ratner did..He should be banned from directing any comic/fantasy/sci-fi movie.
Stick to fast past comedy action movies like Rush Hour dude, that's your realm.



Date night with a handsome guy at the wine bar and went very well.
The perfect evening of listening to up and coming live talent from Austin, sipping on Merlot, smiling pretty, enjoying the conversation in a laid back setting wearing my 40's inspired dress to top it off with my Victory Roll hairstyle with a pink bangs.  I love the 40's era! Elegant, classy and stylish.  My date was polite and a gentlemen. Opened doors, pulled my chair, manners and politely telling him thank you.
We ending the night with a warm hug and smiles!! :)
