Had a blast this weekend; visited the family, made Arroz con Gandules and enjoyed a night out dancing the night away continuing my birthday month.

I went for a vintage pin-up look hahaha the good ol bathroom selfie at my father's house.  I love this dress! Modcloth have amazing pin up and vintage dresses from up and coming designers.  The variety of my fashion is from the 40's to late 80's era maybe a couple of today's fashion but can't stop dressing like this since a little girl. As a non-conformist, love to have fun with my fashion, make it my own and not follow the trends. Being unique is all about having fun and individualism!  So trekking back to Rick's been almost 2 years??? A nice band played singing from 80's to today hits.  Empire 6 which is the sister to IDT and still a damn good band.

Went to Rose City Brewery to end the evening of dancing.  Nice place and pretty new to Tyler, go Tyler, Texas!

We'll get BETTER at it!

I made Arroz con Gandules for the first time. Not bad for this Kountry Girl!  Thought I forgot the salt..grrrr hey my Dad tore it up! If you guys do not know what it is; a Puerto Rican rice dish.  Very simple to make and really goes great with pork chops.  Another staple dish added to my basic cooking skills. Had the approval from a native Puerto Rican for my skills and yes she judged the color, how it looked etc..  Next time SALT..:)










Another addition to our bovine family, on March 19th we had another calf! Yaaaaa!!!!!!  A beautiful bouncing (sorta of wobbly) black and white calf with a white tip on his tail. Pictures are coming soon......

Another adventure, another blog coming soon. Who knows what I'll do next?????

Howdy Everyone!

Came back from another fun filled trip to San Francisco again.  Yes, for the 3rd time in a row San Fran been winning my heart over and over.  The gorgeous men, delicious food, plenty of walking and the fun day activities and night life that I totally love.

Didn't start off on a good foot due to being late for my flight. Never in a million years as I thought but happened.  Finally booking a last minute flight on a different airline the plane took off from George Bush International and my troubles went away.

For some good ol Southern cooking hit up Brenda's French Soul Food on Polk St.

My goodness alive, never had a great plate of shrimp n grits with a cream biscuit that is exactly like home without the guilt, excessive grease (South is know for good ol' lard and butter deep frying) and a generous amount for the price.  Letting you know, I caught the ITIS and had to walk it off a couple of block before hitting the Asian Art Museum on Larkin St.  What you think I was going to eat a good ol plate of food and walk back to my hotel to nap? Shiiddd, that's for suckers!

The museum was amazing! The staff are generous and the learning experience of Asian art, culture and current exhibitions are on display. Camera photography is not permitted in the exhibitions on display so really the beauty of it is to experience without pulling a camera/video out at every second.  Another hidden gem after my trek is the French Library on Bush St. called Alliance Fracaise  Being a bookworm, my brain geeked out while my thirsty hands touched every book in French and sat down to sorta read a graphic novel.  So if you want to get your nerd on in a different language, buy a book (5.00-2.00) head on to the library to soak as much French from survival to fluent good reads.

Nightlife is the most exciting part of San Francisco of being famous for a party town.  Pretty much everything is poppin' like popcorn.  Happy hour is very different from happy hour from a small town.   The Vestry's Sinful Happy Hour in the Mission District is diivvinnneee!!  Parlor Tricks (the band) played, sampling mac n cheese with tomato jam washing it down with their drink specials.  The Valhalla was the poison of choice and yes I went Asgard--twice.  Thor and the gang was down the street at Blondie's Bar for martinis. Any martini is made, even build your own.  

After much so much fun it was time to say good-bye heading back to the Lone Star State but first a good ass donut from Bob's Donut Shop & Pastry Shop that morning. Thanks to BWWOB creator the fabulous beautiful Mrs. Dee Lefrak for the culinary delight suggestion those are the BEST donuts I've ate in a long time!

Ladies, I urge you to come to San Francisco for a helluva time. Especially non-conformist black women that live in the Southern regions!!!! You can say L.A. and other metro cities for diversity (which I've been) but San Francisco have been my go-to place for three years straight and always a different adventure. Do put on good walking shoes, a smile and an upbeat attitude! Also do keep in shape because of the hills, if not DO get into SHAPE! There's LOTS of WALKING!!! 

P.S. For you single ladies, plenty of good-looking men from all ethnic background and STRAIGHT! Don't let anyone tell you differently, be ready to mingle like a lady with an open-mind to swirl! ;)  It's a mecca for us.

2016 THE YEAR of CHANGES

So I'm taking Statistics now not a class I want to take but must needed for my degree.  It's HARD but with practice and getting the formulas down getting the hang of things.  Being online push myself beyond to learn to grasp the whole concepts of Pareo Charts sample data blah blah blah..

My hair faded into a green now and really I like it. The original color is blue but had tons of compliments on the fade to green.  Doesn't look stupid or outrageous me being a mom but I've seen some disaster dye jobs on women in my age group....like dude go back to your original color. Some can pull it off without took too "hokey" or "trying hard to look young."


Hopefully LOVE is in the AIR since today is February 1st.  I use to be one of those "anti-Love" chicks long ago. UGH...embarrassed!  If you don't have a date dress up and take someone you love; grandmother Dad platonic friend to enjoy 14th on a Sunday. Speaking on this dayum, I'm going to be extremely busy that week threading eyebrows ya'll know MEN and WOMEN will be on FLEEK with the eyebrow game.

Yes I said "FLEEK" which this word is going out of style soon this year. I don't keep up with the trends I make TRENDS! :)

Life Celebration for Mr. Richard LeFrak

Today is the life celebration for Mr. Richard LeFrak the husband of Mrs. Dee Dee LeFrak, Creator of BWWOB.

Richard was the kindest noble person I've met and a honored to be around him.  Dee Dee LeFrak knows how to vet men and Richard is one of them.  Mr. LeFrak passed away last Sunday and today laid to rest. 

Dee Dee is a wonderful woman beautiful inside and out. I've seen the way Richard is PROTECTIVE with Mrs. LeFrak in a loving and caring way.


Without Mrs. LeFrak introducing me I've wouldn't know a kind man like Richard.

Mrs. LeFrak stay loving and beautiful, the legacy continues with you.

My love, condolences and heart is in San Francisco for Mrs. LeFrak.

Summertime and Unicorn Magic

Summer is already here and the left side of my arm is toasty brown. Don't ya hate when the sun beams on the driver's side in the morning and get the "Oh look a surprise tan?" Yep totally me!

One thing I love about the summer is the lakes, laid back attitudes and people especially guys showing off nice tans with tank tops/muscle shirts and muscles.  Mucho backyard bbq's and ice cold beer to beat the heat or I should say humidity!

As a child I love unicorns and cried during the Last Unicorn movie. My mother bought me a brass unicorn paper weight on my 6th birthday and cherished with my heart and soul. I wanted to be a unicorn soo badly. Then life happened and forgotten about being a unicorn and the magic it brought.

Restful and Back in Action!

Howdy everyone!!

I had a good break from social media and it was pretty hard not to have the urge to peek!
True there's good news but aside from that UGH and GIVE ME A BREAK the memes and the senseless posting from normal to celebrities trying to make themselves "relevant."

Since the break I've took the time to smell the flowers read some long awaited book outdoor activities house cleaning celebrated my birthday with a few friends went on another vaction this time with my daughter.

YES! My daughter and I went to San Francisco!! Her 1st plane ride went smoothly and went to sleep. Hahaha I told her to switch seats when a cutie sat next to her reading a book. Of course I had my "A Game of Thrones" out and about. She likes SF; the sights, sound and the people.  Don't forget the shopping! American Apparel is her favorite store. 

Almost had a heart attack seeing all the good looking shirtless men jogging in the city and Crissy park!

The semster is winding down, finals are next week and graduation for those this Saturday.
Congratulations to the class of 2015! I'm soo jelly!! I'm counting down the days before I toss my cap in the air.

Threading biz is doing well. I'm now almost tha SHIZNIT with it.  Very proud of myself of mastering and contining with threading eyebrows.  I'm going to tell you; hard as heck but I WANTED to learn and be the 1st black American in my area to do it (maybe in the United States???) Still get snickers and whispers from mall patrons but most are amazed by what I do. Because they never seen it done and usually East Asian or Indians some call are the majority. Times are changing and people from a different ethnicity are stepping up to the challenge.  I'm humble and happy take the opportunity and use it to help women feel good about themselves.

 I've found Neon Indian while jamming out to Com Truise, damn they're GOOD and the singer is very yummy! :)  Yeah I know 2000 years late on the music but they are a blessing in diguise when doing late night homework.

Summer is coming ladies so get your beauty on and have a great time with traveling and relaxing. Looking into hit more lakes and couple of concerts to get myself busy and mingling.  I suggest to start getting nice and tone for bikini season (if you are doing it now) and catch some eye candy. I love summer but not in Texas!  Especially mid-July and August this country girl is blasting the AC!

Currently changing the look again...hehehehe never going to stop.  Hey can't help being eccentric and non-conformist!

Break from Social Media

Hey guys!

How many of us take a small to lengthy break from social media?

This month I'm breaking from the social media craziness, meaning Twitter, Facebook, Google + to name a few.  The reason is many but two things stick out in breaking away from social media:

The internet is not human-friendly.
I have on-line classes that need my constant attention.

I am a people person and love human interaction seems since technology hit the scene years ago

before the millennial, human interaction is something that is not practice enough.  How many times do we have a phone in our face? Up to our ear? Texting during a conversation with a actual human person who is telling a story? Checking our phone to seen who've called?  I have been guilty of this couple of times.  Today in class, the professor changed his tune from teaching to getting onto a student about texting during a lecture over the government of North Korea.  He never called the person out by name but stating "If texting in my class is important why don't you leave and never come back until you're ready."  He has a valid point and right!  If you're parents, financial aid or yourself is paying for tuition please be attentive to listen.  Not only it's stupid but rude and inconsiderate to have a texting conversation while the instructor is teaching. My ancient smartphone is buried deep in my Depeche Mode bag and since the phone have suffered from being dropped and thrown, the sound is messed up. And when a text or a call comes in, 99% of the time is ignored. I can call the person back after class, this exclude emergencies.  I've had this phone for four years and time for another one just as long I can make a call, it's all gude.

Does social media consume every part of your life?  Growing up we did not have social media not even a computer. During that time computers was expensive and found them in business offices, mainly banks.  The only 'media" is our mouths and a 'cell' is a land-line telephone.  Sometimes I wish we did not have all this technology but being objective I can say because I grew up without it.  Technology is great when used as a tool for seeking information in a snap, finding artists that aren't present on the radio (do people still listen to the radio?), checking out reviews on a restaurant and my favorite; finding out where the safest areas to move and crime rate because I have children.  I do like Skype because I can chat with my brother being stationed in Europe. And of course blogging to you guys! :)

I will be back soon with millions of stories to share.

I dare you guys to take a challenge of unplugging. Start living life a bit more with face to face, doing more activities, maybe take up a new hobby or business venture where your FULL concentration is needed.
